Discoteca
Discoteca is Andy Westbrook and Disco DJ Mac, two lifelong friends who met in Ipswich in the late 80s and have spent the decades since immersed in the music they love.
Andy's journey started in his late teens, shaped by the euphoric early days of UK club culture at nights at Shoom, Tonka and Moist which drew him to London in 1990. From there he built a career playing alongside dj’s such as DJ Harvey, Danny Rampling and Norman Jay and held a residency at The Cross, playing at countless nights that defined an era. Now back in Suffolk and back behind the decks with every bit of the joy that started it all.
Mac's path began with a deep love of hip hop, until a transformative night at Pikes in Ibiza rewired everything. That experience unlocked the disco sound that now sits at the heart of his musical identity. His selections are instinctive, warm, and rooted in a collector's obsession and if it doesn't come on 7", it doesn't make the show.
Together, Andy and Mac host Discoteca, a monthly show on Transient Radio drawing on a combined lifetime of experience and an unshakeable shared taste. Disco, dub disco, house, balearic and everything that lives in between. No fillers. No shortcuts. Just two friends who love music, playing records they love.
